XL (2001)UK mix masters Prodigy are back with another CD entitled The Experience Expanded: Remixes & B-Sides. The two-disc CD set includes the previously released 1992's The Prodigy Experience and the second disc is made up of Experience remixes and B-sides.
The Experience Expanded is the first release since 1999's Prodigy Present the Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One. I was excited to discover another release from Prodigy but was disappointed it wasn't new stuff but previously released material and remixes instead.
Disc one, Experience, does have a few standout tunes on it - explosive energy tracks like Charly, Everybody In The Place and Weather Experience - songs you can't help but move to. The disc also includes Fire, a song with a cool reggaeish groove. However, some of the vocal loops are kinda annoying - they sound like a little kid on a sugar-high.
On the flip side, disc two Expanded, has remixes, but if you're looking to discover the Prodigy more in-depth I would check out some of their other CDs instead.
