Not only that, she has low blodd sugar, which means she has to carry around extra food in a cooler ā not very fun at all. And the bad luck keeps piling on. Camilleās cat, Checkers is lost. And her best friend in the whole world, Sally, moves to Japan. Youād think with so many unfortunate things happening at once Camille would find it pretty hard to stay optimistic, right?
Wrong. You see, Camille is what her mom calls a hopeful kind of girl. She knows thereās always something to be positive about, and she finds the good in every bad situation. Besides, there are plenty of things that make Camille feel happy: her gifted reading class, a new mattress that doesnāt squeak, sneaking tastes of banned food and the big blue butterfly.
