How to Make a Fall Leaf Headband t416l

What You’ll Need: m1u6e

  • Felt- reds and browns and oranges and yellows
  • Elastic- 1.5” thick
  • Thread
  • Needle or sewing machine
  • Scissors

What You’ll Need to Do: 2s5x1y

  1. Measure the elastic to your head and cut to that size. Make sure it’s a close fit so that it won’t slip off.
  2. Cut out leaf shapes in the felt, just enough to line the elastic. Get a few different colors of leaves.
  3. Line the elastic with the leaves. Make sure that the leaves overlap so that the elastic is completely covered.
  4. Using a needle and thread or, if you know how to use one, a sewing machine, sew the leaves onto the elastic. Do a few at a time to make it more manageable, but don’t forget to make sure the leaves overlap.
  5. Once the leaves are sewn on the full length of the elastic band, sew the ends of the elastic together.
  6. Yay! Go out and celebrate the new season with your new headband.

You can also use a hot glue gun to attach the leaves to the elastic. It may not be as stretchy or sturdy, but it will be quite a bit easier, especially if sewing is a little intimidating.
